Hersh Sisodia's Annotated Transcript
Master of Arts in Educational Technology

My annotated transcript contains information about the courses I have taken throughout the MAET program.

CEP 810: Teaching for Understanding with Computers
Fall 2011
Instructor: Melissa White

This was my first course in educational technology. Taking this and other certificate courses convinced me to pursue a Masters of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET). This course taught me the importance of incorporating technology in a learning environment. This course also introduced me to tools such as Google Docs, Screencasting, and Prezi. I also learned about useful concepts such as Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK), Personal Learning Network, blogging, and other practical applications of computer software and its use in a learning environment. In this class, I created a blog that contains some of the assignments I completed in the course.

CEP 811Adapting Innovative Technologies to Education
Summer 2012
Instructor: Melissa White

CEP 811 was a second course in the Educational Technology Certificate Program. In this course I created my website and Stand Alone Instructional Resource (StAIR). StAIR was a great class project as it provided me with a different perspective on using technology in a learning environment. I created the StAIR by using a new feature in PowerPoint that I had not used before. I continued using StAIR for my other class assignment. I also learned Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and how to effectively incorporate them in lesson planning. This course helped me to be creative and intentional in my work.

CEP 812Applying Educational Technologies to Practice
Summer 2012
Instructor: Susan Wright

This was the final course towards Educational Technology Certificate Program. I learned about various frameworks for technology and what makes teaching and learning effective. This class helped me create my Professional Learning Plan that formed the foundation for this class and provided guidance in the direction to head. I experimented with practical and applicable ways to apply technology to issues in the classroom. The major project for this class was the Wicked Problem Project (WPP). I gained deeper knowledge in using Screencasting tools such as Jing and learned effective ways of using surveys.

CEP 800Psychology of Learning in School and Other Settings
Spring 2013
Instructors: Danah Henriksen and Hannah Klautke

This was an introductory class into the MAET program. It focused on several major psychological perspectives on learning that happens in schools and other settings. I connected learning theories to our own experiences as learners in this course, other courses, on the job, and other learning environments. This course taught me how technology may affect what students learn and how teachers teach. In this course, I examined various types of learning and teaching styles and several theories of learning. I also examined relationships between ideas about learning and learning situations outside this course.

CEP 815: Technology and Leadership
Spring 2013
Instructors: Luke Rapa and Joshua Rosenberg

The aim of this course was to help make us technology leaders and be responsible for managing relationships between technology, teaching and learning. We looked at technology from multiple perspectives for assessing benefits and challenges to different audiences. In this class, I examined professional development strategies, project management, planning, evaluation, relationship building, and ethical and social implications of technology integration. This course taught me the purpose of education, technology evolution, principles of leadership, and intersection of these three elements. I looked at educator's responsibility of managing relationships between technology, teaching and learning. This course helped me to write a policy brief, and to learn about instrumental versus missional thinking.

CEP 820Teaching Students Online
Summer 2013
Instructors: Anne Heintz and Sandra Sawaya

This was a great course since I had to work on a project related to my work. This course was about teaching students online. CEP 820 taught me various strategies to help students learn and participate in an online environment. The concept of this class was to bring the world into the classrooms by incorporating appropriate technology to enhance learning. The two major assignments I worked on were developing a developer notebook and an online course module. I designed a course module for international students who want to apply for off-campus employment authorization after their graduation. These students would be required to complete online this course module before meeting with an advisor for completion of employment authorization approval. I chose to design my course module using Weebly.

CEP 822Approaches to Educational Research
Fall 2013
Instructors: Leigh Graves Wolf

This course prepared me to better understand existing research, including basic research strategies, methodology and practices. It also taught me to effectively perform research by using existing research material. For this course, I had to write about a research proposal project for which I had to search and review studies in my professional interest. My research proposal examined economic impact of international students on U.S. and host institutions.

CEP 817Learning Technology through Design
Spring 2014
Instructors: Punya Mishra and Jon Good

This was one of my favorite courses in Educational Technology program. It challenged me to think creatively. Throughout this course I worked on  small group projects. I utilized the concepts presented in Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud throughout the class. The main project of the course was the Big Kahuna; it brought all course elements together for the finale. I designed a web resource that taught some specific idea of a subject matter of my choice. My final paper aimed at integrating the various issues and ideas I had read, thought about, and discussed during the course. I created a website for MSU international students that teaches them the requirements for maintaining their immigration status in the U.S.

CEP 882The Nature and Design of Compelling Experiences
Spring 2014
Instructors: David Wong and Emma Nguyen

I had a great time in this course because it was a project based course. It taught me to create compelling learning experiences for various audiences. The purpose of this course was to help develop a better understanding of creating compelling educational experiences by using the concepts of the Nature and Design of Compelling Experiences (NDCE). CEP 882 gave me unique understanding of compelling experiences by learning from professionals outside of the field of education (film, music, architecture, and graphic design) because they share the same goals as professionals in education. I created multiple NDCE projects throughout the course.

CEP 807Capstone Educational Technology
Summer 2014
Instructor: Matthew Koehler, Joshua Rosenberg, Andrea Zellner, and Spencer Greenhalgh

This was the final course towards completion of my MAET program. In this course I built my professional e-portfolio and reflected on my experiences in the program. My professional portfolio displays the work I accomplished during this degree program and explains how it prepared me to be a better professional in my field.
